Post-Pandemic Anxiety

Many of us are feeling increased anxiety, including social anxiety, as we come out of the pandemic and a big reason for this is that the world we thought was safe turned out not to be safe. This puts us into a state of hyper-vigilance, where our bodies and minds are constantly on the lookout for signs of danger.

The key in this situation is to give the mind the safety and security it needs by creating a sense of safety within ourselves.

We can’t control the outside world. But we can build ourselves up so that we are a pillar of strength regardless of what’s going on around us. So that we know we can withstand the storm.

We need to trust ourselves.

And the first step in this is to accept ourselves. When we resist the totality of who we are, we are creating division within ourselves. We’re fighting. There is no strength there.

Accepting doesn’t mean we stop striving or working on our development or healing.

It’s the grace of accepting where we are now. Of being able to say I feel really overwhelmed AND I’m ok. The wisdom in knowing we are beings filled with a multitude of every changing perspectives that guide us in how we live and how we grow. Of acknowledging these perspectives, even when we don’t like them, as a point of growth.

We’ve grown a lot. Let’s allow ourselves the grace to be proud of that❤️
